Got this from one of my lists
This came in from my organic gardening list today,
and I was quite distressed to find out that it is true...
***Subject: Shapes of Things to Come
While putting together my seed orders for this year, I came across
this interesting tidbit of information:
Some heirloom seed dealers are reporting that it is difficult to get
heirlooms from the Middle East. The 'coalition' government in Iraq has
made it illegal for farmers there to save seed, only allowing purchases
from 'approved' corporate distributors.
Those of you who think it can't (or won't) happen here need to think
twice.***
bah....this just plain sucks!
