Oh what a beautiful morning...oh what a beautiful day!
Ah the feeling of a quiet. That time when there isn’t a sound stirring in your refuge except the sounds of nature herself.
Every once in a while I long for just the soothing quiet that only mother nature can provide. Today there is a soft rain falling. Although much cooler than I really like it, I have the window partially open to hear the sound of the drops hitting the greening grass of spring. A few hardy birds are making the occasional chirp in the dripping trees, and the first daffies of spring are in glorious bloom. A simply lovely quiet day.
Stephen had to leave before I awoke this morning. So I woke to a house all to myself first thing in the morning. I did my morning Tai Chi to the sounds of my own breathing, and really connected with my energy flow. One of the best workouts I have had in a few months.
I then proceeded to make coffee, and while it was brewing I showered. Gotta have my coffee. I know, I know caffeine is so bad for you…can’t help it, got have my fix. Yes I am addicted, totally. I bow to the Great Caffeine Goddess! All hail your mighty energy!
Next I answered emails, did maintenance on the FD page at MySpace, and filled and boxed six orders.
Now I am ready to paint…grin. I am working on a new mermaid. Victoria has been painting all these wonderful mermaids of late and she has inspired me to do another mermaid. I don’t do them all that often,
So it has been fun working on this one. I also am working on getting a few other pieces I have started done too, such as “A Pirates Life” “Guardians of the Savannah“, and “Mother Earth”.
The studio is in desperate need of some equipment, and is also getting quite full too. Since my studio is a very tiny little place, I am combining spring cleaning with a load of sales at ebay. I have to make some more room in here, and I have also got to get some equipment replaced. My printer is on it’s last leg, and I could really use a new scanner. I also need to up my hard drive and ram on my computer. It is getting sluggish, and needs an over haul with some added extras that will make running the business much smoother for me.
I have also taken up belly dancing. I needed something fun to do, to whittle way that extra winter weight gain. A friend has been learning, and I thought her idea of surprising her hubby with a dance was a great one. So I thought I would get some extra exercise and learn something new, that could be put to “Good” use, and surprise my hubby!…wiggles eyebrows suggestively….giggles. I have been doing the dvd every afternoon for forty five minutes. I still look more like a camel than a dancer, but I am learning, and it gets easier every day. SO I might be able to surprise the hubby instead of scarring him for life…GRIN!
Okay enough yakking….I am off to paint.
